Solo Hunter Interest List

No hunting partner? Join the interest list and Mike will introduce you to a compatible hunter before you book.

Come as Strangers, Leave as Friends

Lazy Puffin Lodge gets a lot of inquiries from solo hunters who want to make a Kodiak trip but do not have a hunting partner available. Because Kodiak is remote, we prefer not to send hunters into the field alone.

This form helps us identify hunters who may be compatible by date, experience, physical ability, pace, and trip goals. If we see a possible match, we contact both hunters first. Contact information is never shared without your permission, and submitting the form does not book a trip or guarantee a match.

Trip Style & Expectations

Do you already have a preferred hunting style or expectations for the trip?

For example: “I like to hunt hard but do not need to race up the mountain,” “I am primarily interested in meat,” “I am looking for mature bucks,” or “I would like plenty of time for fishing too.”

Is there anything we should know that would help us find a compatible hunting partner?

Please Read Before You Submit

Submitting this form does not guarantee that a compatible hunting partner will be available for your preferred dates. Lazy Puffin Lodge will make reasonable efforts to introduce solo hunters with similar schedules, abilities, experience, and expectations. Both hunters must be comfortable with the match before contact information is exchanged.

A pairing is intended to improve field safety and trip logistics. Lazy Puffin Lodge cannot guarantee personality compatibility, hunting success, physical performance, or the actions of another guest.

Thank you. Your submission has been received and Mike will be in touch.

What Happens Next

Mike reads every submission himself and keeps your information on the Solo Hunter Interest List. When two hunters look compatible on dates, ability, experience, pace, and goals, he contacts both first and explains the possible match. Nobody gets anyone else’s phone number or email until both hunters say yes.

A matched pair books a standard shared-lodge hunt at $4,750 per person and hunts together from the lodge. If no match turns up for your dates, your request stays on file and Mike will reach out when one does. Questions? Call (907) 942-3533 or email [email protected].
